Wow, we are nearing the end of a week of living in the yurt with our two dogs and 2 cats. It was great fun, very comfortable, fantastic weather, except for the next few days which will and are cool and wet. It has basically been raining all day and I have my laptop tethered to my iphone and catching up on all my computer stuff, research, letter writing, bookings, etc. There is a nice soft wood fire burning so I am as toasty as can be. Lots of light coming through the large round sky light.
Dwight saw a young bear last week near the saw mill, there are lots of deer, porcupine, otter, ducks and geese, the forest is a busy place this time of year and is the whole property with all our projects. Its the mad rush to get it all done before the snow flies and not add any new ones to the list:)
In a couple of weeks we have someone coming to look into spraying foam in the dirt crawl space of a section of our home, this should make a big difference in keeping the house warm. Lot to do to prep it for this. Dwight would also like to replace the shingles on the house, we want to have a look underneath as well and since it is a cathedral ceiling we cant to it from underneath. I have a feeling it will be like opening pandoras box and we will have a bigger job on our hands than shingling........
It is so beautiful out with the changing seasons, coloured leaves, the smell, temperature, I love it all this time of year....oh and the fishing is good now too.
Decided to get my gun license as well this winter, Dwight has his now and we have been doing some target practice in the sand pit, lot
