This is what I woke up to, damn it's good. Make your normal coffee but make it stronger. If you have leftovers then you can keep that for coffee the next day, just make sure you turn the coffee machine off as soon as it's brewed.
Get yourself a big mug, heat up a 1/3 - 1/2 cup of whole milk to almost boiling, about a minute and a half in the microwave should do it. Then take your frother or whatever you call that gadget (you can pick it up at Ikea for about 10 bucks or sometimes you can find it at a dollar store) and whip it up for a couple of minutes incorporating as much air as possible till it has almost doubled or more in volume. I like to use whole milk but 2% will work as well.

Pour in your coffee, add sugar if you wish but less than you would normally take (cause you're getting it in your caramel sauce, right?) I like to stir in a tsp of maple syrup. Give it a quick stir, then drizzle on your caramel sauce and a tiny sprinkle of cinnamon. Hmmmmmm a great way to get a bit more calcium into your diet.
Caramel Sauce
If it thickens as it cools you can either heat it up a touch or add a touch of carnation milk. It is also great on ice cream and toast!
If it is too thick you can heat it up in the microwave so you can drizzle on your coffee.
Caramel Sauce
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1/4 cup carnation milk
- pinch of salt....really enhances the caramel, especially if the butter you use is unsalted.
