Far far away, in a land beyond time, Fairies are living in the Lone Wolf Forest. Lucy has been lucky enough to ocassionally spot one or two of these elusive fairies and has created sculptures of these little forest creatures. Frost fairies, oak, frog, monarch butterfly fairies to dragonfly, birch and tree fairies to name a few. Most of these are made from polymer clay although she likes to mix her mediums up to get the desired effect. Lucy even does the odd little pixie or goblin. Lucy also does commissions of your loved ones and particularly likes to sculpt children. Lucy’s children fairies strike a remarkable resemblance. There is that special magic in every person and child and thing....make that magic come alive. Ever think about turning someone into a fairy, pixie, imp or troll? I now take commissions to turn your little one into a magical being. Comes with Certificate of Authenticity Introductory offer prices start at $200 If you want other features or special requests, bases, etc...price to be discussed. I would also ask you to fill out the form. I would also need a number of pictures, mostly of the front of the face and side profiles with hair pulled back and ears showing. This young lady will be a Monarch FairyThis little one will be a dragonfly fairyMeet Dahawnu....the frost fairy, she is almost finished, just needs some detailing, painting and a base
If you walk very quietly in the forest in winter...stop....listen....if you dont see her, you will hear her ![]() The New Year brings in a lot of fairies yet to be finished as the ideas keep stacking up! I'm still working on various faces..most challenging! I know it looks a bit creepy with the body parts but that is how it works. I work on various parts and then all of a sudden it comes together. For instance you will see a baby with no legs...it will be a blue bell baby....eyes will be closed, bluebell for hat....you will see. Baroo is a tree fairy. The next time you walk by a tree...study it....I mean really study it and you will find the fairy in that tree.
Baroo is 18" tall, has a burl derriere and bracket fungus ears and if look really closely it looks like she has three feet! $350 After working with the chicken wire I wanted to try with just the roll of wire...I bought a few different gauges...got some inspiration from the net and away I went. There is one fellow "Robin Wight" in the UK who does these wonderful wire fairies....I corresponded with him and away I went to make my very first wire fairy.
She turned out delightful...a lot learned...cant wait to do the next one. There is over 100' of wire in her! so she has a bit of heft to her. Working with the wire can be a bit hard on the hands and fingers but then I can always rest them and move to something else. I like this particular lady because you can hang her from the wall or ceiling. |
