Lone Wolf Forest

August 30th and the last week has been kind of wet and close. We are heading into the busy fall rental season and its looking great.
Dwight has been busy with the troll bridge and salvaging some old sound oaks boards from a pile that has been sitting around for quite a while. This bridge is just a walking, snow mobile and atv bridge to cross the creek.
I have the decks at the cabin all done and working on the trim around door and window in sauna as well as prepping the outside. I realize I cant do much on the front as it is on a hill and I need the deck on to be able to work on it. OH the latest. Dwight has a big pile of saw logs cut and was going to have someone saw them into lumber.....hard to find someone and he finally did but the guy now is backed up with his own wood. Dwight found a saw mill on Kijiji and is now busy being a sawyer as well! He has my cedar order for the sauna deck as well as timbers and boards for his storage building. So much fun. A few days after that we got a call from a neighbor about buying his old skidder....so we are getting it going again and hope to have it here this weekend....things just dont seem to slow down around here.
Josh is back to university next week.

I can't believe it, we are almost the end of August! Its simply magical being at the cabin for the summer. Dwight and I were able to get the new yurt site ready in 6 weeks, We literally carved it right out of the woods. I had the web site ready when we started and almost fully booked for the summer when we were done. It turned out to be an amazing spot, check out the web site. Complete with outdoor shower, outhouse, camp kitchen, sand box, firepit....

We have been working on opening and maintaining trails which is quite the battle, the forest wants to close in almost as fast as I can keep it open.

Dwight and Josh have been working on the Troll Bridge so we can have a circuit across the creek and around.

At the cabin no more work has been done on the sauna, perhaps I will start next week. Dwight will be getting the cedar cut for the deck and balcony. I am busy stripping the decks and staining with a new product. Its looks amazing. Maintenance on the logs is underway as well.

We are having our big summer Blue Lagoon party this weekend, should be fun, we have more room now for more tents, slow but sure we work the land.

I was so frustrated this year with a couple of groundhogs at the garden, they like just about anything. They have left my giant atlantic pumpkin alone so far. So far its about 14" and is supposed to really start growing. 

Dwight and I celebrated out 2nd anniversary not long ago, I cant believe we have been together 5 years already, I wake up singing every morning I'm so happy!
